Patches for Palestine

When we had the idea for this patchwork project in the summer of 2024, we gathered a group of supporters with various levels of sewing skills. We started to plan and think through how to go about achieving our aim. We decided on the theme of Hope and Solidarity to frame our patchwork project and reflect our relationship with the Palestinian people.

Over a couple of group sessions, and plenty of sewing at home, we created each patch and designed how the patches would come together as a whole. We had many people join us and it has taken a lot of work. As we worked we thought of the resilience that lives on in our brothers and sisters in Palestine and the diaspora. We hope we have expressed our respect for Palestinians and shown we share their hope for freedom, self determination and peace.
